On December 6th, 2008 the AMVETS, Department of Wisconsin and the AMVETS Riders of Wisconsin, Inc. jointly had a Christmas Party for the members of Fairchild Hall at the Union Grove Veterans Home. The members were treated to sundaes, root beer floats, cake, ice cream, Christmas Carols provide by DJ John Murges and socialization. Santa and Mrs. Santa appeared with presents for each and every member. Fun was not only had by the members but also the volunteers

 

Officers of District #2 AMVETS Riders of Wisconsin were installed at their monthly meeting on September 18.

District #2 of the AMVETS Riders of Wisconsin, Inc. along with VFW Posts, American Legion Posts, the DMZ-MC, the Veterans of America-MC, American Legion Riders, District #1, Korean War Veterans, Submarine Veterans Group, the VVA, the Union Grove Veterans Home Recreation Committee and numerous other organizations pulled together to bring off the biggest Wisconsin Vets Day Family picnic to date. Over 1,200 members (residents) and family members of the Union Grove Veterans Home were served a fantastic meal, treated to games where they were given prizes and loads of fun for an afternoon. Dale "Pete" Peterson, our State President, is also the Chairman of the Recreation Committee for the Union Grove Veterans Home. He wanted to pass on the many thank yous he received from the members (residents). Another fine job by the AMVETS Riders of Wisconsin, Inc of keeping AMVETS, AMVETS Auxiliary and Sons of AMVETS out in the public eye and showing our true meaning. Veterans serving Veterans and Community.
