Hello all. Since the first SEC of this year, time and events have been moving right along. The miles are piling up and soon so will the snow.
Last month bowling with Post 911 was impressive. Also impressive, the “tour” at Iron Mountain VA. There are knowledgeable and caring people who are doing an excellent job taking care of our brothers and sisters. One issue we were discussing was how to minimize red tape. There are certain issues that local government supersedes Federal VA regions. PDC Wiegand and I plan on seeking an explanation from our legislators to help Veterans with the support of their families, to be better handled locally.
We’ve been hearing good responses for this year’s program: Veterans 1st of NEW. Soon they will break ground and start the first of many tiny homes for area Veterans.
The upcoming events are: Meet and Greet with the Governor and his staff for Veterans day on Nov. 9. Veterans Day Gold Star Banquet in Manitowoc Co. Nov. 11. Deer hunting the weekend of Nov. 17. The Winter Dance (fundraiser for the Department) Dec. 1. December 2nd brings the SEC and Post 1 Holiday Party. Post 1032’s Breakfast with Santa follows on Dec. 3. The Pearl Harbor Remembrance at the War Memorial is Dec. 7
Hope to see you all for the Holidays. Stay warm and safe.
God Bless America
