The AMVETS Riders Department and Chapters have been working very hard since the last SEC. Since stepping into the rol of Department President, I have attended several rides and have had the pleasure of meeting new and old friends across the state.
Wounded Warriors of WI welcomed a new vehicle and I had the honor participating in their motorcycle escort to celebrate this event as well as being interviewed by a local TV news channel. Along with 1st Vice, Larry Redmann, we joined a hospice veteran’s last ride. Chapter 13 members assisted AMVETS Post 121 with their annual ride and Department’s 1st Vice, Sgt-At-Arms, Chapter 1776’s President and myself assisted AMVETS Post 127 with their annual ride.
With my help and the help of Department 1st vice we were able to get Chapter 1776 up and running again. Wayne Guenther of AMVETS Post 1 has stepped in as the new chapter President. President Guenther has brought in many new members and is planning for next year’s riding season.
Chapter 13 held their Annual benefit ride on Aug 26th and donated $5000 to the Waushara County Veterans Office. Their annual gun raffle was a complete success again this year. Next year’s ride will be held on August 24th 2024 and they hope to see more friends both new and old come out for their ride.
Chapter 120 is having their raffle again if you need tickets call a Chapter 120 member. Get them soon as the drawing is happening everyday starting Dec 1 to Dec 30th.
It has been a wonderful season of riding and supporting many great causes as well as our veterans.
