I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Let’s remember the Veterans that have passed this past year and pray for all that are ill. A little note on membership. Please try to follow these procedures. Remember when renewing your annual membership, the State raised the minimum dues by $2.50 two years ago to make the total membership $27.50. Your Post can add to that amount.
HAVE YOUR MEMBERS PAY DUES OWED TO YOUR RESPECTIVE POSTS (NOT the NATIONAL Department), TO AVOID OVER OR UNDER PAYMENT TO NATIONAL AND THE STATE. YOUR POST THEN SHOULD SEND THE DUES THAT ARE COLLECTED TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT AS YOU RECEIVE THEM. (YOU CAN WAIT TO SEND MULTIPLE TO AVOID HIGH POSTAGE).

Life Membership Dues Structure. – Individuals aged 55 and below:
$500 (National takes $250.00, State retains $125 and Post retains $150. Send a check to the WI State
Department for $375.00. Post keeps $150)
– Individuals aged 56 to 65: $400 (National takes $200, State retains $100 and Post retains $100. Send a
check to the WI State Department for $300.00. Post keeps $100)
– Individuals aged 66 and over: $300 (National takes $150, State retains $75 and Post retains $75. Send
a check to the WI State Department for $225. Post keeps $75)
Annual Dues
– $27.50 for all renewals and new members. (National keeps $15 and State keeps $12.50) Do not send more than is owed as explained above. The State cannot afford to send overpayment
checks out.
When submitting and filling out the Dues remittance Form for Annual Renewals please print the members name/s and member number/s clearly. For New Annual Member and New Life
Member applications please print clearly in all spaces provided on the respective form. Please ensure to include dates of service with day, month and year entered, along with day, month and
year discharged and the branch of service. Also ensure the member lists his/her current email address if they have an email and lists the telephone number. Submit completed membership
application along with check made payable to AMVETS Department of WI, with the Dues Remittance Form for the proper amount on the check for New Annual and Annual Renewals.

On Wednesday the 7th of January, the funeral for PDC Mike Mahoney and his wife Past Auxiliary President Louise Mahoney was held in Milwaukee. I wish their family the best and we
were honored to have Mike and Louise in our AMVET Family.
